Meridian Life Science, Inc. was awarded a five-year, $12.2 million contract by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Laboratory for production of Phase I clinical experimental vaccines.  The contract requires production and safety testing of experimental non-Influenza, Influenza virus vaccines, and other vaccine-related products for use in humans.

• Production/safety testing of experimental non-Influenza and Influenza virus vaccines and other vaccine-related products for use in humans

• Viral suspensions shown by evaluation in vitro and in vivo to be promising candidates for use in vaccinations of humans

• Wild type viral suspensions needed for challenge studies/immunoprophylaxis or pathogenesis studies

• Manufacture/qualification of Master Cell Lines for virus production or other uses as directed by the NIAID

• Manufactured to FDA and CFR requirements for cGMP
